About Us

We offer you a warm welcome to Greenlands, a former traditional Dales farmhouse dating back to the 1730s on the outskirts of Keld in Upper Swaledale. You can unwind and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of Swaledale, one of the most northern dales in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, with stunning views 'Up and Down Dale'.

We are close to both the
Coast to Coast route (0.8 miles) and the Pennine Way/ Herriot Way (1 mile from Keld or 1.1 miles from Thwaite (bottom of Great Shunner Fell).
There are two rooms at Greenlands, the Hay Loft and the Calf  House, named after their original purposes when they were the old barn. Both are en-suite, and beautifully furnished with luxury linen and towels, luxury toiletries and an extensive range of teas, coffee, hot chocolate and fresh milk.

We are fully equipped for walkers. There is a small drying area for wet clothing and muddy boots, we also offer a laundry service.
For more information see our Room & Rates.

We can also offer limited (2 bikes max) overnight secure bike storage, and there is secluded space outside for more.

If you are wandering around the garden please take care as the paths are steep and slippery.
